Spring Afternoon Tea and candle-making at Ellenborough Park
This spring, guests are invited to slow down and enjoy an afternoon of creativity and indulgence at a beautifully curated Spring Afternoon Tea & Candle Workshop, a thoughtfully designed experience that celebrates the season of renewal.
The event sees a special collaboration with Hannah from Time To Burn Candles, a local artisan celebrated for her luxurious, eco-conscious candles. Crafted using natural soy wax, crackling wooden wicks and pure essential oils, Hannah’s candles are as sustainable as they are elegant. Each candle vessel is individually handmade from jesmonite, with guests invited to choose from a palette of soft, spring-inspired colours.
Guided by Hannah, participants will learn the art and science of candle making, creating their own bespoke, non-toxic candle to take home. Along the way, guests will explore the aromatherapy benefits of essential oils and gain insight into scent creation, focusing on fragrances that gently bridge the transition from winter into warmer months, from uplifting Sweet Orange to grounding Cedarwood. All materials and equipment are provided, along with expert tips on fragrance blending and candle care. As a finishing touch, each guest will also receive a thoughtfully curated gift bag filled with scented, handmade treats.
Following the workshop, the afternoon continues with a seasonal spring afternoon tea, lovingly prepared by the in-house Pastry Chef. Guests can relax and enjoy a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and preserves, and an array of handcrafted cakes and pastries inspired by the flavours and colours of spring.
Blending creativity, craftsmanship and culinary indulgence, this Spring Afternoon Tea & Candle Workshop offers a relaxed yet enriching way to welcome the new season, leaving guests refreshed, inspired, and with something beautiful to take home.
