Willow basket weaving at Kiftsgate Court

Join Yeoman basket maker Mollie McMillen at Kiftsgate Court for a hands-on workshop suitable for all skill levels – whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience.

Throughout the day, Mollie will offer clear, step-by-step guidance as you create your own basket using willow, a traditional and sustainable material grown in the West Country of the UK. You’ll be provided with all the tools and materials needed to craft a strong, durable frame basket in a style that has stood the test of time – perfect for foraging or harvesting from the garden!

Mollie is passionate about sharing her craft and has many years of experience teaching both adults and children. She weaves in willow, rush, tree bark and a wide variety of plant materials, producing bespoke interior lighting, willow coffins and large-scale artistic sculptures. She also works on commissions and collaborates with garden designers, including on award-winning Chelsea Flower Show gardens.
