Mallory Court invites guests to step into the hive and discover the remarkable world of honeybees through its exclusive Beekeeping Experience. Guided by expert beekeeper Lottie, participants don protective bee suits and enter the working apiary for a 90-minute hands-on encounter that brings them safely up close to one of nature’s most fascinating and vital species.

Available exclusively to hotel guests, this immersive activity offers a memorable and nature-led addition to a Cotswolds stay, appealing to families, couples and curious solo visitors alike. Following a short safety briefing and introduction to honeybee welfare, guests accompany Lottie to the hives, where they learn how bees are handled with care, observe the inner workings of a live colony and attempt to spot the queen among workers and drones. Along the way, they gain insight into foraging behaviour, honey production and the essential role pollinators play in the wider ecosystem.

Both calming and educational, the experience fosters a deeper appreciation for bees and their environment. For comfort and safety, participants are advised to wear long sleeves and trousers, tie back long hair, bring socks and wellies, and avoid perfume on the day, as strong scents can attract bees.
